an You Go Without Veneers in the Future If You Do Not Want to Keep Them On?

an You Go Without Veneers in the Future If You Do Not Want to Keep Them On?When you get veneers put on your teeth, there is a process that goes into it. First, we have to trim a slight amount of enamel off of the front of your teeth in order to get the cement to stick. Then, we have to make a mold of the teeth so that the veneers can be created.

Once the veneers are cemented in place, they typically last for about 10-15 years if you make sure to care for them properly. At the end of that time, what options do you have?

Veneers Need to Be Kept On

The only downside to veneers is that once they get them, they must keep them, and only a few of our patients see this as a downside. Since we have to take a tiny bit of your tooth off to place the veneer, it means that you will forever need protection on this tooth. Without a veneer, more bacteria can get into the tooth and the tooth will be more sensitive. However, this also gives you the opportunity to have an improved and whiter smile every decade or so.

Veneers are an amazing way to cover up some of the more bothersome issues on the teeth. However, you need to understand that they impact the health of your teeth over the long-term. As long as you understand we will have to replace them now and again, then you can have the covers that will help your smile look its best. For more information on veneers and how they can help your smile look amazing, give our office a call. We can schedule a time for you to come in and get a consultation about how to best cover imperfections on your teeth.
