Welcome to Digital

At Geelan Dental Care, we strive to give our patients the most comfortable, efficient, and painless dental treatment, which is only made possible through the use of state-of-the-art digital tools. Aron Geelan, DMD and can provide you information on dental technology so that you can make informed decisions when it comes to your oral health.

Below is a list of dental technologies that may benefit you.

Intraoral Camera

Intraoral cameras offer us much more visibility than a simple mirror. These electronic tools are shaped like oversized pens and have the ability to take hundreds of high-definition pictures in a single second. They also consist of UV and LED lights that can illuminate every dark corner of your mouth and can identify whether a tooth is healthy or not.

Thanks to intraoral cameras, we can see a large and defined image of your teeth, gums, and other areas of your mouth on a computer screen. These images can be adjusted on the computer, stored online, and can be transferred over email or other electronic communication means, increasing convenience and reducing paper trail.

Digital X-ray

Digital x-rays use digital sensors rather than x-ray films to capture dental images. These dental images are high resolution and can be displayed on the computer screen.

Digital x-rays are used to detect and diagnose a range of dental issues like hidden cavities, fractures beneath the gum line, jawbone necrosis, presence of a tooth cyst or abscess, tumors, impacted teeth, and the health of the alveolar ridge, which cannot be easily detected from the naked eye.

Digital x-rays offer a lot of benefits over traditional x-rays like exposing the client to lower levels of radiation, allowing us to view the mouth in HD, easy storage and transfer of data, and a lower carbon footprint.

3D Imaging

3D imaging provides a more accurate and in-depth view of the mouth and helps us identify and diagnose potential problems in the mouth. Thanks to 3D imaging technology, we can view the structure of the teeth, gums, mouth, jaw, face, and head in detail.

Because of this, 3D imaging is very useful during orthodontic treatments, restorative treatments, cosmetic dentistry and oral and maxillofacial surgeries.

Cone Beam CT Scan

A cone beam CT scan is a diagnostic imaging tool that emits x-rays in a cone-shaped beam. This device makes a 360-degree rotation of your head to create a single panoramic 3D image of your teeth, gums, and supporting bone structure.

Cone beam CT scans provide highly detailed images of your teeth, nasal cavity, sinuses, facial bones, and jawbones and offer us a comprehensive picture of your oral and maxillofacial health. Hence, they are very effective in orthodontic and jaw surgeries, diagnosing temporomandibular joint disorders, and evaluating the underlying bone structure of the mouth.
