Dentures are prosthetic devices designed to replace missing natural teeth. They serve as synthetic replacements when tooth loss occurs for various reasons, such as gum disease, tooth decay, facial injuries, or aging. Dentures are custom-made to fit your mouth’s unique shape and restore your smile’s appearance and functionality. The following are the types of dentures available:

Complete dentures are used to replace all teeth of a patient. Unlike dental bridges anchored to existing teeth, complete dentures rest on top of the gums. They are custom-made to fit the shape of the patient’s mouth. Complete full dentures are typically placed 8-12 weeks after removing or extracting the natural teeth. They provide a functional and aesthetic solution for individuals who have lost all of their teeth.

Partial dentures are utilized when a patient retains several natural teeth, typically in the upper or lower jaw. They consist of a pink-colored base made of acrylic or another material affixed to a metal framework. The framework includes clasps or connectors that securely hold the partial denture within the mouth.

Custom dentures are crafted using higher-quality materials, resulting in a natural, pleasing smile. These dentures are designed to resemble your natural teeth closely. Creating custom dentures involves allowing patients to preview their dentures before they are finalized. This allows for adjustments and ensures that the dentures meet their unique requirements and desired appearance.

Immediate dentures are a type of denture inserted immediately after tooth removal or extraction. This means that you can have dentures right away without a waiting period. However, not everyone is a suitable candidate for immediate dentures.

Implant-supported dentures utilize dental implants as a secure foundation for the denture. These dentures offer exceptional stability and support, allowing them to stay firmly in place. The risk of slipping or shifting is greatly reduced by anchoring the denture to dental implants, providing increased comfort and confidence while speaking, eating, and smiling.
